Challange
Ahead of the first forum at the Islamic Civilization Center, our team was tasked with designing an application for tablets that would be presented to forum guests as a gift.
The audience included visitors from different countries and age groups, which made accessibility and ease of use key considerations throughout the project. The application also needed to support multiple languages and provide a clear, intuitive interface that would be comfortable for a diverse audience.
Solution
The main focus of the design was to ensure a comfortable tablet experience. Key controls were positioned primarily in the upper and lower areas of the interface, making the main actions easily accessible while maintaining a clear and comfortable navigation structure.
Following the client's requirements, green was selected as the primary color, creating a visual connection with the Center's existing website and helping maintain a consistent digital identity.
Due to the highly compressed development timeline, we prioritized functionality and usability while keeping the visual design consistent and cohesive. This allowed us to focus on the core user experience without compromising the overall visual connection with the Center's existing digital presence.
Accessibility was also an important consideration. Since the forum audience included older visitors, we introduced an adjustable font-size option to improve readability. At the same time, the default typography was carefully sized to provide a comfortable reading experience from the start.
Approach & Methodology
We began by developing the application's structure based on the technical specification. Once the main sections and user flows had been defined, we analyzed similar products and gathered relevant visual references.
Due to the tight project timeline, the research and preparation stages had to be streamlined, allowing us to move quickly into interface design.
Based on the approved structure, we designed the key screens and interface components. Design and development were carried out in parallel, with completed interface solutions being continuously handed over to the development team. This workflow allowed us to make efficient use of the limited timeframe and accelerate the overall product development process.
Result
The result was a user-friendly multilingual application designed to accommodate guests from different countries and age groups.
We developed a cohesive visual system that followed the client's requirements while maintaining a clear connection with the Center's existing website.
The application was deployed on 400 tablets and distributed to forum guests. The overall positive response from users provided valuable confirmation that the key goals of the project — usability, clarity, and accessibility — had been successfully addressed.
